Jesus, I Trust In You

Been hit with a dry season of job applications and freelance opportunities,
it's like I'm wandering aimlessly but not really 'cause Jesus knows the way.
Bringing an abundance of hope to each interview and conversation,
only to feel like I've been buttered up to a half-baked promise.
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth.

Constantly hearing Jesus, "not yet, I have something better for you."
I am to the point where I've told Jesus countless times:
"Put me in, coach! I'm here! I'm ready!"
Continuing to show up everyday attentively to where He wants me to be.
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth.

It's rough some days, longing to arrive at a place where I am able to share my gifts and talents.
What are we waiting for, Jesus? Where are you calling me?
‘Cause everything feels like a dead end at the moment. In limbo.
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth.

I do know not to give into despair and hopelessness.
To show up with joy, love, and peace.
I live with conviction that you are walking with me daily - working behind the scenes.
You never cease to show me how you have written in between the lines and connected the dots.
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth.

Teach me to be your instrument of love and vessel of grace and prayer of peace.
It's you who is working through me and in me.
With every meeting and encounter with another person,
a reason to be present everywhere we go.
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth.

You've always been on purpose and on time.
I have no reason to doubt that this dry season is the perfect background for this Lenten Journey.
I will walk with you in your truth and continue to share our light throughout the journey.
Let this day be the day I give up who I have been for who I am becoming.
Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth.

Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth.
For I am afflicted and poor, help me prepare the way through these 40 days.
Keep my life, for I am devoted to you, I will always be here, attentive, listening to your voice.
Save your servant who trusts in you; for I know that your Love and Grace is enough for me.
